Marquis Yacht 40 SC Sport Coupe: A Seriously Fun Vancouver Yacht With Style, Space, and 870 HP 🛥️☀️

Every once in a while, I get to tour something completely outside the usual condo, townhouse, or luxury home world, and this one was way too fun not to share.

The Marquis 40 SC Sport Coupe is sleek, fast, beautifully designed, and honestly much more spacious than I expected. It has that polished Italian look, but it still feels like a yacht you’d actually want to spend a full weekend on, not just admire from the dock.

The design is very cool, but it’s the layout that sold me

Designed by Nuvolari Lenard, this yacht has a clean European feel with high-gloss exotic wood cabinetry, wraparound seating, and a panoramic salon that brings in a ton of light.

The large opening doors make the indoor and outdoor spaces feel connected, which is exactly what you want on the water. Nobody wants to feel stuck inside when Vancouver gives you one of those perfect summer days. 🌊

The cockpit is probably my favourite part

The powered sliding transom lounge is such a smart feature.

When it’s extended, you gain more than 60 sq. ft. of extra entertaining space, which completely changes how the back of the yacht feels. Add the swim platform, foredeck sun pad, and powered retractable hardtop sunroof, and suddenly you have a pretty incredible setup for hosting friends, swimming, or just doing absolutely nothing for a few hours.

Which, personally, sounds pretty great.

You can actually stay onboard comfortably

Below deck, there’s much more going on than you might expect from a sport coupe.

You have a forward primary stateroom with a queen berth, a private guest cabin with twin berths, and a full bathroom with a separate shower.

There’s also an equipped galley with a cooktop, microwave, refrigerator, and sink, plus a wine cabinet, convertible dining and cocktail table, air conditioning, heating, and entertainment systems.

So this is not just a “take it out for the afternoon” yacht. You can comfortably turn it into a proper weekend away. 🍷

And yes, it has some serious power

The performance side is just as impressive.

Upgraded twin Volvo Penta D6 IPS 600 diesel engines produce approximately 435 HP each, giving you around 870 combined horsepower. The yacht has approximately 450 engine hours, subject to verification.

One feature I really like is the Volvo IPS joystick docking. If you’ve ever watched someone try to manoeuvre a boat in a tight marina, you know why this matters. It makes close-quarter handling much more manageable and takes some of the stress out of docking.

The key details

  • Price: $598,888 CAD

  • Location: Vancouver, Canada

  • Length: Approx. 43'7"

  • Beam: Approx. 13'11"

  • Staterooms: 2

  • Engines: Twin Volvo Penta D6 IPS 600 diesel engines

  • Combined horsepower: Approx. 870 HP

  • Engine hours: Approx. 450, subject to verification

My take

What I like about this one is the balance.

It looks sporty, it has serious performance, but it doesn’t sacrifice the things that actually make boating enjoyable: seating, sleeping space, a proper bathroom, a usable galley, and lots of room to be outside.

It feels luxurious without being overly precious, and it’s the kind of yacht that makes you immediately start thinking about summer weekends, anchoring somewhere beautiful, and staying out a little longer than planned.
